Simple answers to the questions people ask most.
Laminate with attached pad (Evolved Series) requires no extra underlayment, but a 6-mil vapor barrier is needed over concrete. Laminate without pad (Evolved Element Series) should use a maximum 3mm underlayment, with a vapor barrier required on concrete.
Vinyl and fiberboard floors require no additional underlayment but always need a 6-mil vapor barrier on concrete.
Engineered hardwood does not use foam underlayment and should be installed with approved glue plus a vapor barrier when placed over concrete.

Engineered Hardwood – Not allowed or not warranted.
No carpet, floating floors, cushion-backed, or glued hardwood on concrete.
Installing in non-climate-controlled areas (like sunrooms, cabins without HVAC, or full bathrooms) or where extreme heat, cold, or humidity is present may cause damage and void the warranty.
Stick to a pH-neutral, no-rinse cleaner that’s safe for your specific floor type (hardwood, vinyl, or laminate).
Skip abrasive scrubbers, vinegar, bleach, wax-based products, or steam mops—they can dull the finish or cause damage.
- Minor scratches? Use a floor repair kit matched to your floor color—these can help fill in surface marks and keep your floors looking fresh.
- Deeper damage or major wear? One of the benefits of our flooring is that individual planks can often be replaced without redoing the entire floor. We recommend contacting your installer or a flooring professional for best results.
Our floors are designed to handle everyday life, but like any surface, they need a little care:
- Sunlight: Prolonged direct sunlight may cause fading over time. We suggest using curtains, blinds, or UV-blocking window film to protect your floors.
- Humidity: Keep indoor humidity between 30–60% to avoid expansion or contraction, especially for hardwood.
- Flooding or standing water: No flooring likes to be submerged. Clean up spills or leaks quickly to prevent damage—especially on hardwood and laminate.
