Los Angeles, CA – February 3, 2026 – McMillan today announced Eclipse, a new Stone Polymer Composite (SPC) vinyl flooring collection engineered to reduce surface reflectivity while enhancing visual and tactile wood realism. Eclipse features a 1% gloss finish, positioning it among the lowest-gloss resilient floors currently available in the residential market.
Super-Matte Finish Reduces Glare and Maintains Appearance
Most resilient flooring is manufactured with satin or semi-gloss finishes (commonly around 5–10% gloss) due to production efficiency. Eclipse uses a super-matte topcoat designed to diffuse light and reduce visible reflectivity. The 1% gloss finish minimizes shine and helps maintain a more consistent appearance across changing light conditions, particularly in bright or open-plan interiors.
Precision Embossed-In-Register Technology
Eclipse incorporates Embossed-In-Register (EIR) technology that aligns surface texture directly with the printed wood visual. Grain patterns, knots, and natural variations are registered to their corresponding emboss, improving alignment between appearance and tactile feel. Combined with low reflectivity, this reduces visual cues commonly associated with synthetic surfaces.
